Hamza Igamane Rangers exit ‘imminent’ with deal agreed
Lille have an agreement in place to sign Hamza Igamane from Rangers, according to reports in Morocco.
The French side have emerged as frontrunners for the 22-year-old and they want to team him up with World Cup winner Olivier Giroud, using the duo to replace Jonathan David.
The French giants were last week in contact with the Moroccan’s representatives but had still to agree a fee with Ibrox chiefs.
But Moroccan outlet KoraMaroc claim talks have advanced significantly in recent days and an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs.
Igamane will reportedly now go through a medical while paperwork for the deal will be finalised.
It is claimed an announcement that he is a Lille player will then be imminent.
Rangers had placed a reported £15 million asking price on his head and the Moroccan reports claim his old club AS FAR would be due 30 per cent of the fee Lille will be paying.
If the £15m has been met, that would amount to £4.5m.
Gers paid just £1.7m to bring him to Glasgow last summer, so even allowing for that 30 per cent, they will have made a significant profit.
Igamane scored 16 goals in 46 matches in his debut campaign at Ibrox.
Fellow striker Cyriel Dessers also appears to be on his way out with AEK Athens working on a deal to take him to Greece.
That would be a clearing of the decks in the centre forward area, allowing new boss Russell Martin to bring in fresh firepower. Israeli Dor Turgeman from Maccabi Tel-Aviv is top of the list
