Lille have reportedly agreed on a deal with Rangers for Hamza Igamane, with the player reportedly having accepted personal terms for a three-year contract
The transfer fee is still being negotiated, but it’s estimated to be around £20 million or €20 million, which would make Igamane the most expensive forward sold by Rangers.
Here’s the latest on the potential transfer.
*Transfer Fee*: Rangers are looking for a fee of around £20 million, while Lille’s initial bid of £14.5 million was rejected. They’re now preparing a second offer of £15-£16 million with potential add-ons.
*Igamane’s Future* The Moroccan striker has reportedly agreed to terms with Lille after a pivotal meeting, and an official confirmation might be imminent once the medical and paperwork formalities are completed.
*Replacement for Jonathan David* Lille views Igamane as the perfect successor to Jonathan David, who is set to leave as a free agent.
*Other Interested Clubs*: Other clubs, including English teams like Everton, West Ham, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Brentford, and Fulham, have also shown interest in Igamane. Marseille and Atalanta were also linked, but Lille appears to be in pole position.
It’s worth noting that Rangers might use the funds from Igamane’s sale to strengthen their squad, potentially signing new players to replace him and fellow striker Cyriel Dessers, who is also linked to a transfer.
They claim that an official announcement confirming the transfer is imminent once Igamane has completed the formalities of a medical and the necessary paperwork.
They also add that his former club FAR Rabat will receive nearly 30 per cent of the transfer fee, which could be as much as £4.5million if Gers’ £15million asking price has been met.
The Israel international is of interest to several teams in Europe including Gers, with a reported fee of £5million required to prize him away from the Israeli top-flight.
