RANGERS Football Club are today delighted to announce the signing of Max Aarons from AFC Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.
The full-back, 25, joins Russell Martin’s squad as preparations for the new campaign continue. Aarons made his breakthrough at Norwich City after joining the Canaries from Luton Town’s academy in 2016.
The London-born defender made his debut for the side in 2018 and played a significant role in two separate English Championship winning campaigns for Norwich City.
He made over 200 appearances in a five-year spell with the Norfolk outfit, earning international recognition at youth level with England as the young Lions lifted the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2023.
That summer, Aarons joined AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League, slotting straight into Andoni Iraola’s side and helping the Cherries achieve a new points record in the division.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia in La Liga.
Speaking after joining the Gers on a season-long loan, Aarons said: “I am delighted to be here, as you can see it’s a huge club and you realise that when you walk through the doors, I can’t wait to get going.
“I’ve got a lot of experience now in different leagues and I have played a lot of games. I think I can bring that experience, I can bring a new energy, and I think Rangers fans can be excited – I am really looking forward to it.”
Head Coach, Russell Martin, commented: “Max is a player who I have always kept a keen eye on since he was emerging through the youth ranks while I was coming to the end of my time at Norwich as a player.
