BREAKING NEWS;West Ham reveals sack of manager already as relegation claim emerges
West Ham kick off their Premier League season with a trip to Sunderland on 16 August.
After failing to raise the standards since replacing Julen Lopetegui at the start of 2025, Graham Potter is hoping that next season will prove to be a fresh slate.
The Hammers did suffer from plenty of injury blows last term, which certainly did not help Potter’s efforts to get things going at the London Stadium.
Nevertheless, there is plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window before the Premier League season gets underway again and David Sullivan must back the boss if he wants to see improvement.
West Ham face relegation threat
West Ham ended the season sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
After recent success in Europe, that is nowhere good enough after the big money that has been spent following the exit of Declan Rice.
As Tottenham now look ahead to Champions League football under new management, they will be eager to push much further up the table next term, possibly opening a space for the likes of the Irons to fall.
Although no summer business has yet been done, the pressure is already piling on Potter’s shoulders.
Rory Jennings has suggested the worst could happen, telling talkSPORT: “West Ham United under Graham Potter are going to be relegated. West Ham United, I have never known a manager who is so not befitting the club.
“West Ham United are a proud club with a rich history, with a chip on their shoulder and a very vocal and passionate fanbase. None of that chimes with the kind of man that Graham Potter is. Nothing about West Ham United sits comfortably with Graham Potter at the helm.
