Rangers news round-up: Dessers forced to clear locker, Mulligan announcement made

Rangers will soon be returning to Auchenhowie to get underway in their preparations for Champions League qualifiers and the new campaign.

Russell Martin will be looking closely at his squad and then turning to Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers, hoping for the right support during the summer months.

There could be plenty of change to mark a new era at Ibrox, with Cyriel Dessers seemingly heading for the exit door, while Martin looks to recruit new faces like Harry Toffolo and Josh Mulligan.

Here, Ibrox News rounds up all of the latest news coming out of Rangers.

Toffolo ready for exciting summer amid Rangers transfer talk

Toffolo is out of contract with Nottingham Forest this summer and Martin is keen on bringing him to Ibrox.

The left-back has held several conversations over where Toffolo’s future may lie after leaving the City Ground, and he is now ready to analyse all the offers on the table.

Speaking on the Forest Focus podcast (17 June), Toffolo said: “My agent has actually left me to it whilst I’ve been on holiday. He wants me to go and enjoy my time away, which he’s done respectfully.

“Now I’m back, I’m going to get my teeth into some bits. There’s been a lot of conversations held with many clubs. So it’s going to be an interesting summer. It’s going to be an exciting summer. Not a clue where I’m going to end up, which is quite fun.”

Clearly, the 29-year-old is excited about what comes next and Rangers need to take advantage of that to pull him to Ibrox.

With Ridvan Yilmaz heading towards the Ibrox exit door, it’s a signing Martin could do with and he brings plenty of experience.

Rangers are yet to secure Mulligan deal
