Leicester City could make Sam Greenwood their first signing of the season as the Foxes gear up for a year of Championship football.

The summer transfer window rumours are in full swing, although it has been quiet at Leicester for a variety of reasons.

Not only are the Foxes facing a possible points deduction, there is also the small matter of seeing if Ruud van Nistelrooy will be the Leicester manager for the 2025/26 campaign.

Targets are still being identified and according to the Daily Mail, Greenwood of Leeds United could be the first signing of the summer.

As a versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the frontline, replacing Jamie Vardy will be key to their promotion ambitions.

Last season, the Foxes were the worst side in the league from set pieces according to Opta, scoring seven from a total of 83 shots.

Greenwood is a prolific set piece taker and has been able to score some stunners – including one against Leicester during a loan spell with Middlesbrough.

Bringing him in could make them a threat from corners and free-kicks, giving the East Midlanders much more hope of getting on the scoresheet.
