DEAL DONE;Hamza Igamane has accepted Brentford offer and set to exit Rangers club

Brentford are understood to be chasing a move for Hamza Igamane.

The Moroccan frontman has enjoyed a blistering start to life at Ibrox, having notched 16 goals in all competitions in his first season for the club.

Igamane only joined the Bears for £1.7million last summer, as he opted to leave his homeland for the first time to make the step into the Scottish Premiership.

He has been largely excellent since then, and Rangers now look set for a battle to keep of him, despite the fact that he fell behind Cyriel Dessers in the pecking order in the latter stages of the campaign.

Brentford are part of a large number of teams that are interested in Igamane

Igamane has rapidly become one of Rangers’ most promising players, and he would have been a man who Russell Martin would have been desperate to build his new-look side around next term.

However, it now looks as though he will have that opportunity taken away from him.

The Moroccan is attracting the interest of a whole host of clubs, in both England and France, according to Foot Mercato’s Sebastien Denis (11 June).

Strasbourg, Rennes and Lille are all interested in a move for Igamane, and their interest is matched by a trio of Premier League sides in Brentford, West Ham and Everton, who have all added him to their shortlists.

Brentford will want Igamane as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo

Igamane has become something of a cult hero in Govan after his late winner saw Rangers defeat Celtic 3-2 earlier this season, but it looks as though the Ibrox outfit may have to begrudgingly wave goodbye to him this summer.

Brentford appear set to lose Bryan Mbeumo, with Manchester United in talks over a £55m move, and the Bees clearly see Igamane as a capable successor to the Cameroon international.
