Leeds United star agrees three-year deal – player has finally made his decision

Leeds United can finally move on with their transfer plans after the latest agreement at the club. The past week has seen the Whites try to tie up some loose ends when it comes to transfers.

Even though the club is preparing to sign new players, it looks like offloading some is the priority. Reports indicate that over the past week there have been efforts to sell some players. Illan Meslier, Max Wober, Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi are among the names involved. There could be more by the end of the month.

Leeds seem to be pushing to move Meslier and Wober, but are more patient with the trio of Gelhardt, Greenwood and Gyabi as they expect some sort of profit.

Last month saw the club publish their retained list at the end of the season. The most interesting part was how Leeds announced that they would hold talks with Sam Byram and Junior Firpo over new contracts.

The last update from Elland Road was that a huge offer was on the table for the 28-year old. But Firpo and his representatives were busy engaging interest from foreign clubs. And it looks like a deal has finally been agreed. According to Spanish journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, Junior Firpo has signed a three-year deal with Real Betis. This information comes just days after the Conference League finalists put their first offer on the table.

Firpo will now join the La Liga side as a free agent.

Junior Firpo had a good run

The left back has had a decent career at Leeds United. Turning his fortunes around from being benched to becoming a key part of the attack has been a revelation. He was a big part of the club’s success last season.
