Deal in principle agreed to sign Rangers player – Awaiting 49ers’ decision over Ibrox exit
Robin Pröpper arrived at Rangers from FC Twente in August of last year and could leave Ibrox this summer.
On June 2nd, Soccer News stated Twente are very serious about taking the defender from Rangers.
Four days later, we covered multiple claims from the Dutch press that the Rangers player has agreed personal terms with Twente. It was also stated they are sorting out the last details with Russell Martin’s side for a deal worth around €1.5m.
The 31-year-old hasn’t completed his return to his old club yet and Tubantia explain why the operation hasn’t gone through.
They report the Eredivisie club have reached an agreement in principle with Rangers for the centre-back’s transfer. Despite this, there’s been no developments on the Dutchman’s potential move because of the changes at the Scottish club.
On May 30th, a consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises completed a majority takeover at Ibrox. Less than a week later, Rangers appointed Martin as their new permanent manager.
Twente are now waiting for the new Rangers management to make a decision on Pröpper.
The report says the Dutch club are ‘waiting for definitive answers. From club and player.’
