Midfielder confirms he has joined English club on 12-month deal after being released by Leeds United

Leeds United’s retained list earlier this summer confirmed that Josuha Guilavogui would be leaving on a free transfer, but also 10 youngsters would be departing Elland Road.

Veteran midfielder Guilavogui was always expected to leave the club at the end of his contract, having put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season back in October when drafted in as emergency cover.

As things stand, he is one of possibly three senior players that will leave Elland Road on a free transfer. Junior Firpo and Sam Byram remain out of contract come June 30, and are both expected to leave Leeds.

However, 10 others will leave Leeds on a free transfer – from the U21 side. The likes of Luca Thomas after his loans at Halifax and York during 2024-25, as well as Ireland youth international Cian Coleman will go.

Joe Snowdon leaves Leeds without ever making a first-team appearance, but clocking up 32 for the club’s second string. The 21-year-old though did make the bench once, in the Carabao Cup under Jesse Marsch.

But the writing was on the wall for midfielder Snowdon, who only played a handful of games for Scott Gardner’s side during 2024-25. His contract expires this month and he has confirmed a move to Swindon.

It sees Snowdon link-up with Ian Holloway at the County Ground, in League Two. He said on Instagram: “Buzzing to be at this great club. Can’t wait to get going.”

It sees Snowdon reunite with Sean McGurk, who left Leeds on deadline day in January 2024 – before going on loan to Yeovil during 2024-25. The midfielder is the first of 10 to confirm he has a new club.
