SHOCKING NEWS;Dor Turgeman has rejected Rangers offer due to what Russell Martin did to him earlier
Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman is reportedly keen on moving to Rangers in the summer transfer window.
The Ibrox outfit have already tabled a £4million bid for Turgeman, making their intentions clear.
However, it wasn’t enough for the Israeli outfit and they have turned down the opening offer.
Russell Martin wants to bring Dor Turgeman to Glasgow
According to Israel Hayom (8 June), Turgeman has already expressed a willingness to join Rangers in the coming weeks.
However, he is worth much more to the Israeli outfit than the offer tabled by the 55-time SPFL champions.
They have told Gers to increase their offer for the 21-year-old if they are serious about signing him this summer.
He is understood to be a priority as Russell Martin has recommended the Ibrox hierarchy to sign him.
Even before Martin joined, the club have been keeping tabs on him for the past few months, so he’s clearly appreciated by multiple people.
Rangers should sell Danilo once they sign Turgeman
Should Rangers secure the signing of Turgeman, Danilo’s exit from the club appears certain due to overlapping roles, financial considerations and squad dynamics.
Turgeman, a 21-year-old striker with 20 goals in 44 matches during the 2024-25 season, brings versatility, pressing intensity and clinical finishing, aligning perfectly with Martin’s high-energy system.
Danilo, signed for £6million in 2023, has struggled with injuries, missing a number of games and scoring only 12 goals in 48 appearances.
His high wages also strain Rangers’ budget, especially with new American owners prioritising cost-effective signings.
Turgeman’s arrival at Ibrox would likely relegate Danilo to a backup role, which, given his injury history and high salary, is unsustainable.
Potential interest from Dutch and Portuguese clubs offers Gers a chance to recoup part of their investment.
