Nottingham Forest has finalise and terminated Morgan Gibbs-White contract deal with club with effect immediately

A lot has been made about Morgan Gibbs-White and his future at Nottingham Forest beyond this summer.

Manchester City are admiring Gibbs-White as they weigh up who to pounce on as they look to find a replacement for the departing Kevin De Bruyne.

Forest hope to receive a huge fee if Gibbs-White does leave, but the hope will be that the number 10 will remain at the City Ground for a tilt at European football next season.

The Forest squad feel that Gibbs-White will now leave the club this summer after spending three years producing the goods on Trentside.

Forest have been linked with Matheus Nunes from Manchester City, but a contingency plan will definitely be required should the club’s vice-captain choose to leave the club.

Morgan Gibbs-White leaving Forest could help Ibrahim Sangare

Let’s be clear, nobody wants Gibbs-White to leave the club, and he has the potential to seriously rip the UEFA Conference League to shreds if he plays in it next season.

However, football in the modern era dictates that clubs such as Forest will always be at the mercy of bigger, more established options in the Premier League.

If Gibbs-White does leave, there is an argument that Nuno Espirito Santo will choose to change his approach and go with a 4-3-3 system more often than not.

That could really allow Ibrahim Sangare to settle down at Forest, with the likelihood that he plays in his natural holding environment with two runners alongside him.

Forest will likely go for another number 10 just to allow the team to be flexible when chasing games, but there’s an argument that 4-3-3 does suit the current squad of players.

Sangare could be huge in European competition next season
