International forward tells his club he wants to leave after receiving Nottingham Forest offer

Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for a number of players this summer, with Evangelos Marinakis keen to kick on.

Forest have qualified for Europe next season, and it will be the UEFA Conference League that the Reds take part in following a seventh-place finish in the Premier League.

Forest want five signings as a minimum this summer, with squad depth arguably the main factor in the team missing out on Champions League football this season.

Forest have been linked with Matheus Nunes this summer, and it would appear that one or two stellar additions will be targeted alongside some players to boost the squad depth.

Baris Yilmaz wants permission to leave Galatasaray

One player Forest want to sign is Yilmaz, and Fotomac has now offered an update straight from the horse’s mouth.

Yilmaz signed for the Turkish giants in 2021 and has started to really kick on with a top European league looking like his next destination when he leaves Galatasaray.

The versatile winger scored 14 goals and claimed six assists during the 2024/25 campaign but is now hoping to join a Premier League club, with Forest and West Ham very keen to land him.

At 25-years-old, he fits the mantra of a Forest signing from recent years down to the ground, and now he’s lifted the lid on what he wants to happen.

He told Fotomac: “I am here today thanks to Galatasaray. If there is transfer news, it’s thanks to Galatasaray. It has a special place for me. Hopefully, my club will give the OK as I would love to play in Europe.”

Yilmaz would be an ideal signing for Forest

This would be a quality piece of business from a Forest perspective, with his experience of playing in Europe a big factor in the Reds chasing him.
