DONE DEAL;Everton and Leeds United has agreed terms over player signing contract with new club
Leeds United are yet to make their first move in the transfer market with the Premier League campaign still underway, and most of the club’s targets still in action in England’s top tier.
It is a bit of a limbo period for Leeds. A bit of an in-between spell in which The Whites have finished their season, but with the club targeting Premier League-proven players, most linked players remain in action.
Just on Monday night, Konstantinos Tsimikas was in action for Liverpool while Caoimhin Kelleher was sat on the bench. Leeds are supposedly eyeing a £40m double deal for the Liverpool duo in the window.
Another Premier League player in action over the weekend was Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure. Leeds are battling Roma for Doucoure, with Everton’s new owners The Friedkin Group also in control atRoma.
David Moyes breaks silence on Abdoulaye Doucoure’s situation
Now 32, Doucoure is likely to be looking for one big Premier League contract with his Everton deal due to expire in June. Available on a free, Doucoure is just 23 top-flight matches away from clocking up 300.
Former Mali star Mahamadou N’Diaye urged Doucoure to choose Leeds and Moyes has now commented on Doucoure. It looked as if Doucoure was waving goodbye to fans after Sunday’s win over Southampton.
Moyes told TNT Sports: “I don’t know, probably just waving at them all, I’m not sure. He’s done great for the club, he’s done great, so there’s nothing one way or the other at the moment regarding his contract.”
How much is Abdoulaye Doucoure earning at Everton currently
Signing Doucoure makes sense for Leeds. The Whites need midfielders having confirmed the departures of Josuha Guilavogui and Joe Rothwell, and Doucoure fits the bill in terms of Premier League experience.
