Rangers next manager: Davide Ancelotti now reaches agreement for job

Rangers’ hunt for a new manager has taken another twist, with Davide Ancelotti now set to leave Real Madrid.

With just two games left in the Scottish Premiership, all eyes are on who with be the next manager at Ibrox.

It is believed that Barry Ferguson will not be Rangers’ manager next season after a sub-par run of form.

As a result, Ancelotti was recently linked to the role. However, Rangers’ pursuit now seems in vain as he looks set to join the Brazilian national team set-up.

Davide Ancelotti looks set to reject Rangers for Brazil 

Ancelotti recently became a surprise favourite for the Rangers job.

The Real Madrid assistant manager has impressed in numerous roles following his father, Carlos Ancelotti, around Europe.

With the duo now set to leave Spain this summer, there were questions on where Davide would end up.

Rangers had given Ancelotti a proposal to become their manager. However, according to a new report, he is set to reject the Gers.

An article from The Athletic (14 May), Davide is now set to follow his father to Brazil to become the assistant manager of their national team.

This will see him and Carlo Ancelotti’s backroom staff take charge of the nation’s World Cup qualifiers in June.

Rangers’ hunt for a new manager goes on

If Ancelotti does join Brazil, then Rangers’ pursuit of the assistant coach is effectively over.

This is no doubt a big defeat for the 49ers as his appointment would have been a big sign of intent from the Glaswegians.

Now, the Gers must look elsewhere, and there is still plenty of time to find the right man.

However, the search cannot go on for months on end or they risk Celtic having an even bigger advantage going into next season.
