EXCLUSIVE:Friedkins ‘change things overnight’ after new Everton transfer reveal
Everton and the Friedkin Group are ready to kick onto the next level with the move to Bramley-Moore Dock a matter of weeks away.
The Toffees play their final Premier League game at Goodison Park on Sunday, as they welcome already-relegated Southampton in what promises to be an emotional afternoon.
The Friedkins mean business, though, with plenty of transfer rumours already emerging from around Europe, with Moyes admitting there is money to spend.
It has also highlighted a severe change in strategy under American ownership.
Friedkins change Everton strategy already
For some time, Everton have picked up experienced players on cheap deals during their tight PSR restrictions, James Tarkowski and Idrissa Gana Gueye two examples.
But, early reports have linked the Blues with Georgios Vagiannidis and Red Star Belgrade sensation Veljko Milosavljević, both 23 or under.
Dan Plumley has insisted that things such as transfer strategy can change overnight under new ownership, with different networks and motives at play.
It’s the ownership piece coming through that, more than anything,” the football finance expert exclusively told Goodison News.
“I’ve said this numerous times before, the whole thing can change overnight at a club because a new owner has new ways of working, they’ll have different motives, different networks and strategies.
“It was always like that we were going to see that at Everton, given Moshiri and how he ran the club, and the Friedkin Group and how they’ve run football clubs that they’ve been involved in, so it was always likely.
“It’s a good time to do it with the new stadium and changing things up, and it was always likely that we would see this approach from Everton and a lot of that, as always, comes back to ownership structure, but also crucially with this, the networks they may have.
