Leeds United told club would find it ‘very hard to say no’ as 49ers ponder £25m bid for 16-goal hitman

Leeds United could be about to spend very handsomely this summer, and one player they could spend big on is enjoying a whirlwind season.

Leeds United look set to break the bank on a handful of new players this summer, in what will certainly prove to be a pivotal summer in the club and indeed Daniel Farke’s future.

Farke will remain in charge of Leeds United going into the new season. But a poor start to the 2025/26 Premier League campaign could see him hastily sacked and replaced in a bid to maintain Premier League status.

This time round, compared to in 2020, Leeds United look like they have a more all round team as they ready for the top flight. But new additions are certainly needed, especially in attack with the likes of Patrick Bamford likely to leave Leeds United.

And Farke could yet turn his attentions north of the border for some attacking reinforcements.

Celtic would find it ‘very hard to say no’ to £25m-rated Daizen Maeda

One name on the Whites’ radar is Daizen Maeda. The Japanese international who plays alongside Ao Tanaka has scored 16 and assisted 10 more in 33 Scottish Premiership games already this season, and it’s recently been reported that Leeds United are interested in signing Maeda this summer.

Speaking on Go Radio, pundit and former Rangers man Craig Moore has insisted that Celtic would find it very difficult to turn down an offer of £20-25million for Maeda, with reports suggesting that the Hoops are after that much to sell the 27-year-old Maeda this summer.

Moore said: “£20-25million for any player in Scotland is huge, huge money and I think it is very hard to say no to those kind of offers.
