Jeremy Monga;Leicester city star has rejected agreeing new contract deal with club and his leaving

Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy is hopeful that the club will agree a new contract with Jeremy Monga ‘soon’.

The 15-year-old is one of the most exciting talents to come through the Foxes academy, and he has incredibly already made five Premier League appearances.

Given his age, Leicester are unable to agree a professional contract with Monga, which has left them vulnerable to losing the teenager, and it has been claimed that Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are among the clubs tracking him.

Leicester City confident Jeremy Monga will stay at the King Power Stadium

However, speaking to The Athletic after Leicester’s 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest, van Nistelrooy revealed that the club are making progress as they look to reach an agreement with Monga that will see him stay in the east Midlands before signing a pro deal when he turns 17.

We want a future with him and hoping we can announce a contract with him soon. If he can stay and this is his future, and he can make minutes and build him into his pathway.

I have had many conversations with him and his family and hopefully he can sign soon. But it is up to him. It is a joy to work with him. We sometimes talk about his GCSEs and mathematics, and I have to help him with that also, but then we talk about football also. He nearly scored a winner here also. That would have been a fairytale.”
