The new Rangers owners are eyeing a new boss as their first big signing of the new era
Domenico Tedesco has spoken for the first time amid murmurs over his potential arrival as next Rangers boss.
With the 49ers Enterprises and pharmaceutical tycoon Andrew Cavenagh set to take control at Ibrox a new permanent boss is a top priority.
Steven Gerrard is reportedly being considered on the longlist of candidates – with Russell Martin, Rob Edwards and Gary O’Neil also named as potential candidates.
However, among the leaked names is a suggestion that a number of foreign candidates are being considered – with oddsmakers making Tedesco a wildcard for the hot seat this summer.
The 39-year-old has been out of work since January after his time as Belgium boss was brought to an end – but holds strong links to Red Bull.
He spent two years coaching at RB Leipzig – with the energy drink giants holding close ties to the NFL giants with Red Bull holding a minority stake in the Championship winners.
And with speculation ramping up, Tedesco has opened up on his reputation as a “laptop manager” in German outlet Bild as he looks to the future.
He said: “I don’t think there’s a coach these days who doesn’t use a laptop. It simply saves time. Some software only runs on laptops.
“But I think I already know what the questions were always aiming for. Tactics are something I enjoy.
Working with a laptop and analysing games, I really enjoy that, and then developing ideas.
“But the much more important thing is team leadership. You’re dealing with people.
“They have to play for you, they have to be passionate about you, they have to run for you. And that’s the most important thing.
