Jamie Vardy receives Rangers transfer thumbs up as Leicester City striker told Ibrox expectation
Paul Gascoigne says Vardy would have ‘no problem’ scoring goals in Scotland as he decides his next move
Jamie Vardy would score goals for fun for Rangers, says Ibrox legend Paul Gascoigne.
Vardy’s future has been in the spotlight since he confirmed he will leave Leicester City when his contract at the King Power Stadium expires this summer.
It has been claimed the striker wants to stay in the Premier League, while he has also been linked with a surprise transfer to Hollywood-owned Wrexham, who have won promotion to the Championship and are now targeting the Premier League.
Gascoigne has thrown a leftfield option into the mix now, saying he could see the 38-year-old playing for Rangers.
Asked if he thinks Vardy could end up at Rangers, Gascoigne told casinobeats.com: “Possibly. But Rangers is a tough team to play for. They expect you to be winning every game.
But I’m sure he’d score some goals up there. Easy, no problem. Especially because he’s still got that pace.”
Lineker discussed Vardy’s future with Alan Shearer and Micah Richards last week.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Richards said: “I’m hearing Wrexham guys. He wants to go to Wrexham.”
Shearer humorously replied: “There might not be much sunshine there” before Lineker chimed in with: “I can see him in the MLS.”
