BEST SIGNING EVER;Baris Yilmaz ‘keen’ on move amid Nottingham Forest interest

Nottingham Forest’s attacking options are sure to be boosted in the summer, with one long-term target giving the green light to the Reds for a summer pursuit.

Chris Wood’s 19 Premier League goals have been Forest’s key attacking output this season, but with the Kiwi international’s form dipping in the past few weeks, the rest of the Forest squad haven’t managed to take on the responsibility.

Nuno Espirito Santo defended Wood after his side’s draw with Palace, a game which saw Forest fans criticise Morgan Gibbs-White for his lack of attacking contribution.

Goals will be key to Evangelos Marinakis’ search in the summer, then, with one target who boasts impressive numbers already making himself available.

It was widely reported in Turkey that Forest were keen to sign Baris Yilmaz in January, but Galatasaray were reluctant to see their star forward go.

Forest even made a bid for Yilmaz, so it should be no surprise that Turkish outlet Sabah are reporting that Espirito Santo’s side will return for the 24-year-old, who will cost a significant fee for Galatasaray.

The report said: “There are also record sales expectations for the national player [Yilmaz] in the yellow-red club.

Galatasaray, who sold Sacha Boey for €30 million, values Yilmaz above this figure. The star player, born in 2000, who has received offers from West Ham and Nottingham Forest in England, is keen on continuing his career in Europe.”

With a £30m price tag, Yilmaz is certainly an option for Forest, who could well be requiring a starter on the left given Napoli’s interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Reds won’t be looking to lose the Englishman, but statistically, Yilmaz certainly provides an interesting alternative.
