I will not play again;Mateo Joseph announces terminating his Contract deal with club

Leeds United have been able to start planning for the Premier League for a couple of weeks now but can ramp that up further after their clash with Plymouth Argyle tomorrow.

Over the coming weeks and months, Leeds will have to make a number of major decisions regarding current players but also in terms of transfers into the club. Daniel Farke and co. will also need to decide which younger players to loan, sell, or feature more in their first-team plans.

There are some players who will be perceived as capable of making the step up, others who may be considered as too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League, and others who are simply not cut out whatsoever for English football’s top tier.

But the glory and the financial reward of promotion is not in doubt and will unlock doors to sign numerous new faces at the club. It’s absolutely necessary to give them their best chance of survival, even at the detriment to the development of others.

Leeds fans react to Mateo Joseph exit rumours

One player who was featuring more regularly at the start of 2024/25 was Mateo Joseph, with the young Spaniard now with the Whites for four seasons. He has shown signs of promise, but also inconsistency due to being just 21 and in his first season as a professional.

Despite his lack of game time in recent months Joseph is supposedly a ‘very high-level’ talent, which is why there has been interest in him previously. This became apparent in January as Joseph almost joined Real Betis for £8 million. However, the Spanish club have now emerged as an option again.
