BREAKING NEWS;TFG rejected as unplanned Everton exit revealed on Merseyside
Everton’s restructuring since The Friedkin Group took over the club is in full swing.
It has now been almost six months since Everton’s new owners took the helm.
After the success of avoiding relegation under David Moyes, The Friedkin Group have now started restructuring the club behind the scenes, ready for the new campaign.
While this has seen some senior heads leave, the surprise exit of head of recruitment Dan Purdy has been reported as “unplanned”.
Head of recruitment Dan Purdy rejects offer to stay at Everton
News broke this week that Dan Purdy was set to leave Everton as he became the latest senior figure to announce his departure from the Toffees.
Since The Friedkin Group have taken over the club, they have been overhauling the structure, with Director of Football, Kevin Thewell, also departing.
According to The Athletic (1 May), Purdy was not part of the exit plan as he is highly-regarded at the club.
The 31-year-old was offered a role in the revamped football structure being put together by incoming CEO Angus Kinnear. Here, he had been offered the position as head of player identification.
Yet, he has now stated his desire to leave the Toffees.
He is not expected to join Thelwell at Rangers. However, as he was contracted beyond this season, his next employer will have to come to a settlement with Everton.
Everton’s summer plans should not change despite Purdy’s exit
Everton’s targets have already been widely reported in the media, and the club should not change focus despite Purdy’s exit.
Liam Delap is believed to be an Everton target, and he is someone who would quickly fix their blunt attack.
Wilfred Ndidi is also attracting interest from the Toffees, and he could be a bargain given Leicester City’s recent relegation.
