
‘No way’ – Michael Stewart reacts to what he is hearing about Brendan Rodgers’ departure at Celtic
The Celtic players have responded very well to Brendan Rodgers in recent weeks.
After the loss at St Johnstone in the Premiership at the start of the month, Rodgers was scathing of his players, and since then, the team has gone goal crazy, including netting 15 goals in their last three games.
Over the weekend, Celtic thrashed Dundee United to confirm the much-awaited 55th Premiership title, and fourth overall for Rodgers.
This is the Celtic manager’s second stint in charge of Scotland’s most successful club, and everything is going rosy just like the first spell.
But Rodgers’ current Celtic contract runs out during the summer of 2026, and there has been a lot of talk around whether or not he will pen a new deal.
The Northern Irishman has said a lot of stuff about his future, especially after the title was secured, and Michael Stewart was reacting to what he was hearing now from the man in the Celtic Park dugout.

It’s pretty clear, Rodgers won’t repeat his sins of Leicester City, or else, he won’t be allowed back in Glasgow.
But Stewart reacted with surprise and laughter after Premier Sports host Darrell Currie shared that Rodgers went from saying he is ‘150%’ staying to ‘200%’ staying.
One thing is for sure: Rodgers is trying to make it clear to all that he won’t be going anywhere this time around.
“I am sure you heard Brendan Rodgers, there has been a wee bit of speculation in the last few weeks that, maybe in the summer, if the board didn’t deliver the players that he wanted, if he wasn’t thoroughly backed, he might move on,” shared host Currie.
