Ethan Ampadu shares ‘chats’ with Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe amid Elland Road uncertainty

Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe looks like he has a lot on his plate right now, with Daniel Farke’s future the hot topic.

Daniel Farke steered his side another step closer to the Championship title on Monday night after Leeds United beat Bristol City 4-0 at home, giving the Elland Road crowd a lot to cheer about as they celebrated promotion on home soil.

It comes after a week of speculation suggesting that Leeds United could sack Farke ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Although there has been further reports claiming that Leeds United will keep Farke in charge for the new Premier League season.

Either way, Marathe is flying into Leeds United to hold crunch talks with Farke ahead of the summer and ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Whether those talks end in Farke’s exit from the club remains to be seen.

Ethan Ampadu asked if he’s spoken with Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe

Speaking after the Bristol City game, Leeds United captain and fan favourite Ethan Ampadu was asked if he’s spoken to Marathe himself, and Ampadu went on to reveal that he has spoken with Marathe, but purely in the sense of ‘hello…how are you?’ he revealed to journalist Graham Smyth, who posted on X below.

The 24-year-old Welsh international has emerged as a senior member of the side. At the time when Illan Meslier was dropped, it was suggested that Farke could consult Ampadu about Meslier’s position, though whether that was the case remains to be seen.

It could be that Ampadu gives the players’ verdict on Farke to Marathe in the coming weeks although right now his sole focus will be on the Plymouth Argyle game, and on winning promotion.
