Things get even worse for West Ham as Graham Potter eyes move to sign ageing Englishman on a free transfer
Funds are clearly tight at West Ham United, as the propaganda continues to be churned out.
Graham Potter has so much work to do at West Ham this summer.
The 49-year-old’s squad at the London Stadium is a badly unbalanced and ageing one, and he is planning to oversee a big squad rebuild at West Ham this summer.
It could be argued that Potter actually needs to strengthen his squad in every single department.
The good news is that it has been claimed that Potter wants to bring more youth and dynamism into West Ham this summer.
Whether or not he is adequately backed by the board in the transfer market is another matter entirely though.
Judging by the Hammers’ latest reported transfer target, it seems like Potter may well have to be extremely thrifty with his player recruitment in the summer window.
Graham Potter could bring Josh Brownhill to West Ham on a free transfer
Josh Brownhill has actually been on the Hammers’ radar for quite some time now.
Brownhill was actually linked with a move to West Ham way back in 2020, and those links haven’t gone away over the past five years or so.
Now Potter could be the one who finally brings the 29-year-old Burnley midfielder to the London Stadium.
Give Me Sport claim that the Hammers are prepared to make Brownhill a very good offer in order to tempt him into moving to East London this summer.
The midfielder will be out of contract at Turf Moor at the end of this season.
And the Hammers are clearly keen to secure a bargain deal in order to bolster the central midfield ranks.
However, what might look like a cheap deal now will only end in tears for West Ham again.
