Rangers new manager and Barry Ferguson replacement: £17m Jose Mourinho update emerges

Jose Mourinho has been linked with the Rangers job as Barry Ferguson’s interim remit runs out at the end of the season.

The San Francisco 49ers are set to become the majority owners and they will then decide who the next permanent manager is.

Thus far, no decision has been made about Ferguson or whether or not he will remain in charge for next season.

Fenerbahce may have to pay Mourinho around £17m in compensation to sack him

Things do not appear to be going well for Mourinho at Fenerbahce and there is a possibility of the Turkish club parting ways with him.

According to Yeniasir, as cited by T24, the Portuguese manager, who is linked with Gers, is actually owed £25million if he is sacked.

However, they believe they can bring it down to somewhere in the region of £17million.

Rangers’ record under Ferguson.

With Rangers potentially keen on hiring the Champions League winning manager, Fenerbahce can not only save themselves money but earn something from his departure.

This is because the Ibrox outfit will have to pay money to the Turkish club to hire their manager.

Rangers must not pay over £2m to hire Mourinho

Gers must avoid paying over £2million to hire Mourinho due to financial and strategic concerns.

Mourinho’s high salary demands and compensation fees would strain Rangers’ limited budget, risking financial instability.

His short-term, trophy-focused approach clashes with the Gers’ need for a sustainable rebuild to challenge Celtic long-term.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager’s divisive style and history of quick exits, often within three years, could disrupt team cohesion and fan support.

However, he would bring in eyeballs and potentially convince quality players to sign, but it would be a short-term fix.
