DEAL DONE;Nottingham Forest set sights on signing Celtic sensation Jikiemi

Nottingham Forest are plotting a move for Celtic teenage sensation Dara Jikiemi, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-back, 15, has impressed for club and country at youth level having captained Scotland’s Under-15 side.

Forest are setting their sights on luring Jikiemi to England ahead of the summer transfer window.

The young defender could be the latest Celtic talent to be lured to the Premier League in lieu of continuing his development with the Hoops.

Ben Doak and Rocco Vata are two leading talents now playing at Middlesbrough (on loan from Liverpool) and Watford respectively after leaving Parkhead at a young age.

Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney is the club’s most expensive import after his £25million move to Arsenal in 2019 – but is set to return to Celtic for free this summer.

Daniel Cummings, 19, is the latest star to emerge from the club’s youth system and is available on a free transfer this summer.

Football Insider revealed last November that Wolves, Fulham, Ipswich, Sunderland and Burnley have all watched Cummings – who has hit 29 goals in 37 games this season – in action.

Nottingham Forest sit third in the Premier League after securing a 2-1 victory over Tottenham away on Monday (21 April).

Forest open talks over Hudson-Odoi deal

Meanwhile at the City Ground, Football Insider revealed on 10 April that Nottingham Forest are willing to offer winger Callum Hudson-Odoi an extended contract.

The 24-year-old will have just 12 months left to run on his Forest deal in June after arriving from Chelsea in 2023.
