Nottingham Forest winger set to reject contract offer in bitter blow for Nuno Espirito Santo
With a slight dip in form on the field, Nuno Espirito Santo won’t be happy to see that one Nottingham Forest gem is set to look elsewhere.
Tying his Forest squad to new deals will have been one of Espirito Santo’s priorities as the summer approaches, with Murillo signing a new Forest deal back in January.
Chris Wood committed his future to Forest as well as the spine of Espirito Santo’s side was protected, but there have been issues elsewhere as Ola Aina has yet to commit to the City Ground.
It’s been well documented that Forest are working on a new deal for Aina, but as things stand, he’s set to depart the club at the end of the season, with a Red looking likely to join him.
Nottingham Forest gem Adam Berry set to reject contract offer
After featuring in the Forest youth team’s win over Athletic Bilbao, 18-year-old Adam Berry is set to depart the Forest Academy, with interest from the Championship influencing his decision.
According to a report by TEAMtalk: “Berry is prioritising his footballing pathway and development over money, with a drop down to the Championship a realistic possibility.
“Nottingham Forest are now struggling to convince the teenager to extend his contract, and Berry is considering his options for the summer. There is a contract offer from Forest on the table, but it remains unsigned, and as things stand, looks set to remain that way.
“Stoke are amongst the sides keen on signing Berry on a free transfer, while Blackburn Rovers and Norwich are also keen, along with Belgian Pro League side Westerlo.”
A disappointing blow for the Forest manager, Berry could’ve had a realistic chance of breaking into the first team as the Reds require homegrown players for European competition.
