Nottingham Forest opening Hudson-Odoi talks after Tottenham transfer mission’

Nottingham Forest are planning to hold talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi over the offer of a new contract after an impressive season.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old is “loving” his time at the City Ground.

The winger will have just 12 months remaining on his deal in June, and clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation with a deal in mind.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider in November that Tottenham are interested in Hudson-Odoi and scouts have been keeping a close eye on his performances

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are hopeful they can tie him down to an extended deal to ensure he remains at the City Ground for the foreseeable future.

Forest believe being able to offer European football, ideally in the Champions League, should be enough to convince their best players to stay.

Football Insider revealed on 10 April that Forest want to offer Hudson-Odoi a new contract to reward him for his impressive performances.

Now, Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that Forest are confident of reaching an agreement with the ex-Chelsea star.

“Nottingham Forest want to sit down with Hudson-Odoi,” he told Football Insider.

He hasn’t got long left on his deal and they want to make sure he isn’t tempted to leave, because there has been interest from a few teams including Tottenham.

“He’s always shown a load of promise that looked like it was going to go unfulfilled.

“Now, he’s been allowed to grow and improve his game probably beyond what most expected of him before he made that move.

“From a Forest point of view, that’s a selling point to convince him to stick around.
