Oscar Cortes claims French manager central to Rangers switch and controversial £4m transfer
Oscar Cortes is at the centre of plenty of Rangers discussion as the Colombian winger struggles to win over frustrated Ibrox fans.
Cortes, who is still only 21, has been at Rangers for 15 months but contributed very little ever since being struck down by injury at Rugby Park only seven games into his Ibrox tenure.
Despite the injury issues, Rangers signed a £4m deal for Cortes last summer with the cheque expected to be paid come the end of his loan spell at the end of the current campaign.
Kris Boyd reckons Rangers should be contacting lawyers to try and find a way to wiggle their way out of the transfer.
But whilst the contribution of Oscar Cortes remains under the microscope, the winger has been explaining how he wound up at Ibrox in the first place.

Oscar Cortes was one of the hottest young talents in Colombian football when he secured a move to FC Lens in 2023.
The winger had joined the Ligue 1 side from Colombian club FC Millonarios and claims that he had issues after making the move to France.
Amongst those included the language barrier – a tough hurdle for the then 19-year-old to clear – but Cortes believes French manager Franck Haise just didn’t fancy him.
It’s normal for a young player,” Cortes said when asked about his struggles with Lens by Radio Caracol. “I arrived at Lens at 19, and the language was a bit difficult for me.
“But I was always certain that I could have exploded at any moment. I hadn’t anticipated that the coach wouldn’t appreciate me very much as a player.”
