Ianis Hagi has finally accepted terms and conditions as Barry Ferguson confirm his exit
Ianis Hagi is no stranger to being linked with the Rangers exit as the summer transfer window approaches.
Romania international Hagi has been tipped to quit Ibrox at the end of the campaign when his contract expires.
Hagi was left out in the cold early in the season due to contractual reasons, but he has since returned and has been an important member of the first team.
However, a report by Sportmedia that emerged on Saturday (12 April) suggested Hagi looks set to join Fenerbahce on a free transfer.
Hagi responds to latest Rangers exit report
Players do not usually respond to speculation, but Hagi felt obliged to do exactly that as he took to social media to shoot down the rumour from abroad.
Posting via his personal X account (12 April) in response to the article, Hagi simply replied: “Fake news!”.
That led to some supporters wondering whether the opposite could be true, with Hagi agreeing a contract extension, but he was less willing to reply to those messages.
What is clear, though, is that no agreement is in place with Fenerbahce and Hagi seems committed to Rangers – for the time being, at least.
Barry Ferguson will need Hagi in Europa League
Hagi has three goals and five assists in 22 Scottish Premiership matches this season, which is not an outstanding return and nor is it terrible.
Ferguson regularly calls upon the Romanian and he played the full 90 minutes of the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Athletic Bilbao this week.

Hagi will have a part to play in next week’s return match, too, but exactly where he ends up beyond the end of next month is anyone’s guess.
