Nottingham Forest already have Morgan Gibbs-White plan amid Man City transfer interest
Latest Nottingham Forest news as Morgan Gibbs-White the subject of transfer talk ahead of summer
The list of star performers during an absolutely incredible campaign for Nottingham Forest is a long one.
Picking a player of the season is no easy task as a strong case can be made for any one of a number of contenders. Morgan Gibbs-White is very firmly among them.
The 25-year-old is the Reds’ talisman. He is the one who so often makes Nuno Espirito Santo’s side tick and who Forest look to to make things happen. He is a joy to watch and gets fans off their seats in excitement.
It is perhaps inevitable, though, that with the summer transfer window around the corner there has been speculation about Gibbs-White’s future at the City Ground. Below, NottinghamshireLive takes a look at the playmaker’s situation.
Season so far
“For me, Morgan is a top, top player. So much talent, so much quality, the level of performance he is giving to us, with the ball, off the ball,” head coach Nuno said of Forest’s No.10 recently.
Gibbs-White has played a huge role in getting the Reds to where they are – third in the Premier League table with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League and in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The initial £25 million paid to Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign him in the summer of 2022 has long passed the point of being a bargain.
On and off the pitch, Gibbs-White has established himself as a leader and a big influence at the club. One of the first names on the team-sheet, he is a regular starter and has notched five goals so far this term. He has shown versatility, too, being able to operate in different positions, including in a deeper role.
