Everton confirms the return of Carlo Ancelotti recently as David Moyes replacement
Everton are looking towards a much brighter future with their Premier League survival all but confirmed.
David Moyes shared a real change of opinion over the weekend after he watched his side pull another point clear of the drop zone.
The games are running out in the 2024/25 campaign with Everton now sitting 15 points clear of the bottom three.
With safety almost in the bag, Moyes will now visit Bramley-Moore Dock, which he was keen not to do until safety was mathematically confirmed.
Former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has found his name in the headlines for the wrong reasons lately.
But Gary Lineker has been keen to stick up for the Real Madrid boss after what’s been said since he departed Merseyside.
What Gary Lineker heard after Carlo Ancelotti left Everton
Ancelotti is set for talks over the Brazil national job, with Dorival Junior having recently parted ways from his role.
A number of years have now passed since Ancelotti departed Merseyside, but he is someone who the Everton fans certainly feel privileged to have had as their boss.
Speaking on BBC Sounds, Lineker has shared the story he’s heard about Ancelotti’s departure from Goodison.
“You know he’d been there [Madrid] before, this, I believe to be true, I was told from a reliable source, Real Madrid rang him to get his opinion about a coach or two they could possibly bring in,” said Lineker.
I’ve met him a couple of times and he’s a lovely person.”
Even former Everton manager Marco Silva has praised Ancelotti following his time on Merseyside.
However, the proposition to return to Madrid whilst at Everton proved too big of an opportunity for the legendary manager to turn down.
Carlo Ancelotti’s record as Everton manager
Ancelotti previously told Richarlison he could win the Ballon d’Or and he could soon reunite with the forward in Brazil.
