EFL announced that the crunch clash between Leeds United and Middlesbrough has been postponed till further notice
Leeds United are under pressure to get a result at Middlesbrough after winning just one of their last six Championship games. The Whites have dropped out of the automatic promotion spots this weekend, and they are in desperate need of a win as soon as possible. An EFL announcement ahead of the game could please the Whites.
Daniel Farke and the Leeds United players are battling poor form in their bid to earn automatic promotion, with six games left in the regular Championship season.
A run of one win in their last six has pushed Leeds out of the top two spots after for months looking like the favourites to outright win the Championship this season.
Fans should expect a good game at the Riverside Stadium as both teams like to play good football, and the EFL have appointed a referee who should aid the way the two sides play.
Leeds United can’t have too many complaints about the appointed referee
The EFL have announced that Andrew Kitchen will take charge of the game between Middlesbrough and Leeds at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday night.
His sole appearance in a Leeds game came in the 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town in March last season. He sent off Huddersfield’s Jonathan Hogg after he picked up two yellow cards.
However, he is not known for being a trigger-happy referee and has brandished the red card just once in 22 Championship games this season. He has produced 80 yellow cards during the same period, which means an average of less than four bookings per game.
Kitchen has refereed five games involving Middlesbrough so far in his career, those games ending in two Boro wins, two defeats and one draw.
