Rangers reveals signing Jose Mourinho’ as new permanent manager after new development
Rangers will need to act fast if they want to hire Jose Mourinho as their next permanent manager due to a fresh development.
Barry Ferguson is currently in charge of the Light Blues, but the former captain is only in charge on a temporary basis until the end of the season as things stand.
Ferguson returned to Ibrox, this time in a managerial role, after Philippe Clement was dismissed from his role due to the underwhelming results and performances that were being provided by his team.
Ferguson has managed to steady the ship to some capacity as he attempts to prove he’s capable of taking on the job permanently, but it’s unclear whether or not he will get that opportunity.
The 49ers takeover is expected to be completed shortly, and the new owners might look to bring in a new manager, potentially with a much larger profile, in a bid to grow the profile of the club.
Mourinho has been a target for Rangers
Mourinho is one name that has been linked to the Rangers hot seat, especially after he publicly praised the Scottish giants earlier this season.
Scottish | Games Played | Won | Lost | Points |
2. Rangers | 32 | 20 | 7 | 65 |
The Portuguese manager is one of the most successful in world football, having had spells at the likes of Porto, Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and more.
It is believed that the outspoken manager “sussed out” the Rangers position during his recent visit to Ibrox when his Fenerbahce side played Rangers in the Europa League.
Mourinho might be moving elsewhere
Rangers are hoping that they can lure the 62-year-old away from his current role in charge of Fenerbahce, where he has had to deal with a myriad of controversial situations.
