Rangers ‘appear set’ for transfer windfall after new development

Rangers are preparing for a big summer with a lot happening behind the scenes at Ibrox.

Not only are the San Francisco 49ers poised to complete their takeover, but there are also expected to be plenty of ins and outs in the transfer window.

Also, a decision is to be made on who the permanent manager will be going into next season.

Kieran Dowell appears to be inching closer to Birmingham City transfer

Kieran Dowell moved to Birmingham City on loan in the January transfer window and has done well at the English club.

He’s been a standout performer for them, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 17 games in all competitions.

On Saturday, 6 April, he once again found the back of the net for the St Andrew’s outfit.

His stock is certainly continuing to rise and Birmingham in pole position to clinch promotion to the play-offs, they would want to sign Dowell permanently.

While there is no buy option in place once the loan deal expires, Gers are understood to be open to selling the 27-year-old this summer.

Rangers well positioned to cash in on Dowell this summer

With just one year left after this summer, Rangers face a pivotal decision – cash in now while his stock is peaking or risk losing him for free in 2026.

His standout performances surely have Birmingham eyeing a permanent move, especially as they edge closer to playoff promotion in the English Championship.

Though his loan lacks a buy option, Gers appear open to a sale, and Birmingham’s potential promotion windfall could easily fund the transfer fee Gers would demand.

This summer represents a strategic window for the Ibrox outfit to maximise returns on the 27-year-old midfielder, capitalising on his form and Birmingham’s ambition.
