Kris Boyd has delivered his verdict on the transfer activity at Rangers this summer.

Gers are expected to be under new ownership by the time the window opens.

The San Francisco 49ers aim to get the takeover finalised within the coming weeks.

Vaclav Cerny mooted to leave Ibrox this summer – Boyd

Boyd has slammed Gers for leaving things too late in order to finalise an agreement to sign Vaclav Cerny.

The 27-year-old moved from Wolfsburg in the summer and has been among the first names on the team sheet for Rangers.

He has contributed consistently in the final third at a time when the rest of his teammates have mostly been inconsistent.

Boyd wrote in the Scottish Sun: “When it comes to Cerny, though, I wonder if Rangers have left it too late to get a deal done with Wolfsburg for the Czech.

He’s been exceptional. In a team that has struggled so badly domestically, he has shown himself to be a class act. But it’s typical of the club’s recruitment that a permanent deal hasn’t been written in stone before now.

“Rangers? They sign loan players then watch as values soar and they become too pricey to keep.

“Remember Abdallah Sima? Or Malik Tillman? They came to Ibrox for first-team football only to pack their bags and move on to Champions League clubs elsewhere.

“If Gers have some sort of gentleman’s agreement to sign Cerny for £5.5million this summer, hopefully they will get that done.

“But if it’s not there in black and white, I fear his days at Ibrox are numbered.”

NFL giants 49ers are likely to make an attempt to keep Cerny at Rangers
