Nottingham Forest announces players exit as relationship is broken – Espirito Santo hasn’t handled situation well
Ramon Sosa will look to leave Nottingham Forest in June as his current relationship with the club and Nuno Espirito Santo is broken.
according to journalist Christian Martin, speaking to Versus, who insists the winger will not remain at Nottingham Forest under the current circumstances.
Sosa joined Nottingham Forest in a €12m deal from CA Talleres in the summer after impressing in Argentina and being linked with a move to Europe for months.
It has not proven to be a dream switch for the Paraguayan winger, though, with him managing just 17 appearances and 493 minutes in total so far.
That’s largely been due to the performances of the players in front of him, with the likes of Calum Hudson-Odoi and Antony Elanga in top form this season and keeping the likes of Sosa out of the picture.
Sosa has largely accepted this but there has been some frustration at a lack of opportunities in other competitions, namely the EFL Cup and FA Cup, where Nuno Espirito Santo could have rotated but has elected not to.
The winger has rejected interest from Brazil in the last few months to fight for his place, but Martin insists he’ll be moving in the summer if things don’t change.
“For now, the relationship is broken, and Ramón will look to leave in June; he won’t want to stay at Nottingham Forest under these circumstances,” he said.
“He has a strong backbone because the team hasn’t been playing badly. Why not give him the opportunity? There have been thrashings where I could have easily given him confidence. It’s a bit of a lack of reading the player’s personality, what they failed at…
“Gustavo Alfaro has him well now, knowing how to handle him, right? Well, now Ramón needs a bit of that too, from Espíritu Santo.
