It has been a miserable 2024/25 campaign for Tottenham.
Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League having lost 15 of their 29 games so far this season, while the north Londoners also crashed out of the FA Cup at the second hurdle.
There is – however – a way for Tottenham to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, as winning the UEFA Europa League would grant them access.
If that does not happen, Spurs run the risk of losing Dejan Kulusevski – according to Calciomercato.
Dejan Kulusevski could leave Tottenham
The Italian news outlet are now reporting that the Sweden international could return to Serie A if Tottenham fail to secure European football for next season.
Calciomercato write that Kulusevski – who Lucas Bergvall admires – could join either AC Milan or Napoli this summer unless Postecoglou wins the UEFA Europa League, with Fabio Paratici, the man who signed him for Spurs, a contender to become Director of Football at the San Siro.
Should Spurs fail to qualify for Europe, it is said that the Swede – who Tottenham paid £25m for – will be valued at €50m (£41.8m) and won’t depart for a penny less.
Kulusevski – who Ben Foster called Tottenham’s best player – has been a vital figure for Spurs this season, scoring ten goals and providing ten assists in 42 appearances.
Dejan Kulusevski has hinted possible dissatisfaction with ENIC and Daniel Levy
We doubt Spurs value the attacker as little as £41.8m – although we don’t doubt that he may become disillusioned at Tottenham without European football
Kulusevski has already expressed some unhappiness with those in the boardroom at Tottenham when defending his teammates and Postecoglou, saying: “You can look at the manager, you can look at the players, but it’s bigger than that.”
