‘Stuff of dreams’: Rangers starlet continues memorable start to 2025

For Findlay Curtis, 2025 has already been a year to remember.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who made an impressive debut for Rangers in the Scottish Cup against Fraserburgh, followed it up with a starring substitute role in the Europa League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Now, Curtis’ meteoric rise continues with his first-ever call-up to the Scotland Under-19 squad.

Describing the call-up as a “proud moment,” Curtis shared his excitement and pride at receiving the news.

“I got the email beforehand – they send out an email before the squad is announced – and it was a proud moment for me, my family, and my friends. I didn’t really think there was going to be an Under-19s camp, so I thought I was going to get a week off,” he told Rangers TV.

Curtis has already made his mark with Scotland, providing an assist in the Under-19s’ 1-1 draw against Sweden at the Pinatar Arena in Spain on Wednesday.

The Scots youngsters will face Poland in their final match of the camp on Saturday, where Curtis will be eager to continue his solid start on the international stage.

Reflecting on his journey to this point, Curtis admitted it was difficult to watch other Rangers teammates get called up in the past while he continued to be overlooked.

“It’s the stuff of dreams when you find out you are going away with Scotland,” he explained.

“I’ve never been called up to a Scotland squad before – this is the first time. It was quite hard watching other boys get called up, but I just kept my head down, kept on working hard, and my reward has come.

“There’s so much talent in the squad. It was crazy to see the talent in the squad and I immediately started looking forward to it.
