Vaclav Cerny ‘entitled’ to madcap celebration as Rangers camp double down stance to soaked Celtic punters

Vaclav Cerny reacts amid a furious backlash to his Rangers celebration against Celtic

The Rangers bench were “entitled” to their wild celebrations after Hamza Igamane’s last-gasp winner against Celtic.

After Igamane netted the crucial goal to claim three Premiership points, boss Barry Ferguson wheeled away in celebration down the touchline.

Behind him Rangers player Vaclav Cerny was seen squirting a water bottle in the direction of the home support – who reacted furiously, forcing security and police to step in in an attempt to calm the situation.

However, Tam McManus reckons that the visitors should have been allowed to take part in the madcap scenes in the closing stages.

He told PLZ: “The Rangers bench is entitled to celebrate a last minute goal against Celtic at Parkhead. You are going to be delighted.

“It would be the same if it was the other way at Ibrox and Celtic scored late on to win a game.

“You are just hoping there is no trouble at the game, because you don’t want that to overshadow a fantastic performance and result for Barry.”

Speaking to Sky Sports cameras after the game, Ferguson admitted he had not had a chance to see the flashpoint.

He doubled down in his post-match media scrum, adding: “No, I was concentrating on making sure that I came up with formation to see the game out.

“I’m just glad I wasn’t involved. I’ve got the time and focus on my team, and that’s what I was doing.

“You look at the clock. I don’t know how many minutes were left. Was there seven or eight minutes?

“I need to make sure that we’re drilled into the information just to see the game out and obviously come away with three points.”
