Tottenham told to terminate Son’s contract as footage emerges from Fulham defeat

Son Heung-min’s popularity among Tottenham fans is decreasing, and footage from the defeat against Fulham hasn’t helped.

Fans were left furious, evidenced by an angry exchange with Mathys Tel, as Spurs suffered their 15th Premier League loss of the season on Sunday (16 March).

Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by Fulham at Craven Cottage as Ange Postecoglou made seven changes.

Those changes would come back to haunt the Australian as one player in particular made the Spurs boss look stupid after a “disgraceful” performance in West London.

Son started the match on the bench and only played the second half at Craven Cottage. However, the 32-year-old has still managed to enrage supporters after new footage emerged from the loss.

Son disappointed after Tottenham defeat v Fulham

Postecoglou could be sacked by Daniel Levy after the loss against Fulham on Sunday.

There were very few Spurs players who could hold their head high after their performances against Marco Silva’s side. However, it is Son, who only played half the match, who fans seem to have directed their anger toward.

The Spurs captain could be seen looking rather upset at full time in footage shared to X by THFCReports (16 March). However, it is fair to say that fans don’t have much sympathy for the forward, with one supporter even calling for his contract to be terminated.

Son needs to step up at Tottenham

Son has often appeared upset after defeats at Tottenham this season. However, it eventually gets to a point where fans aren’t interested in a player’s reaction after a defeat.

Premier League 2024/25 Position Points

Bournemouth 10th 44

Brentford 11th 41

Crystal Palace 12th 39

Tottenham 13th 34

Tottenham could finish in the bottom half of the Premier League

While it is of course important that Son appears to care about the club, fans want to see results on the pitch, and simply appearing upset after a defeat isn’t going to be enough to keep fans on your side.
