Hudson-Odoi and Gibbs-White respond to Jota Silva’s Nottingham Forest message

Nottingham Forest continued to take a step closer to securing Champions League football on Saturday (15 March), and Jota Silva played a significant role.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men defeated Ipswich Town 4-2 away at Portman Road after a goal from Nikola Milenkovic, an Anthony Elanga brace, with an 87th-minute goal from Silva wrapping things up.

The result left Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna “seething” as the Tractor Boys are starting to run out of time to save their Premier League status.

However, the three points only served to further establish Forest’s position in the top four as they moved to within one point of Arsenal in second place.

Their victory and Man City’s draw allowed some distance to grow between them as well, with six points now separating them in the Premier League table.

However, Forest will now turn their attention to the FA Cup as they will be back in action in that competition against Brighton on Saturday (29 March).

Jota Silva takes pride in his performance

Silva’s goal was his fourth of the season, but only his second in the Premier League which made it a sweet personal achievement.

The Portugal international took to Instagram after the game to celebrate the moment, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White responding.

He said, “Happy with the goal, but more for having achieved another crucial victory.”

Nottingham Forest stars hit back at England snub

Forest have been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League this season, and several English players have been a key part.

That’s why there was a lot of shock that nobody from the squad was called into Thomas Tuchel’s first-ever England squad, but the players who were snubbed let their football do the talking on Saturday.
