‘Jose Mourinho far more likely to be next Rangers manager than Rafael Benitez’
Rangers are on the hunt for a new permanent manager and two former Champions League winners could be in their sights to fill that void.
The Gers parted ways with Philippe Clement after a period of disappointment, with the Belgian coach having issued a farewell message to Rangers fans to share his personal disappointment.
Barry Ferguson has taken charge of the club on a temporary basis until the end of the season, and while he will likely throw his own name in the hat, he has had a tough start at Ibrox.
Former Aberdeen CEO Keith Hyness revealed to Football Insider that Ferguson might not even make it until the end of the campaign if results and performances do now improve.
Rangers fans have shared their excitement about the possibility of hiring Jose Mourinho after he spoke positively about the Scottish giants in his press conference.
The ‘Special One’ would be a massive coup for Rangers if they were to lure him away from Fenerbahce given his experience of winning trophies, which is what the club desires after trailing Celtic for several years.

Jose Mourinho might be the more exciting option for Rangers
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has revealed he believes that Mourinho might be a better option than Rafael Benitez to take on the role.
“I’m not so sure whether he’d a good fit or not,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“I’m not so sure whether he’d get it, I’m not so sure whether he’d get the club.
“Benitez’s last success as a manager was a long time ago, you look at when he went to Everton, it [was a] really strange decision to appoint him there.
