Craig Hope says it’s 50/50 that ‘vital’ Newcastle United player leaves this summer
Newcastle United will have to go through something of a rebuild this summer.
While this season could still finish in glory for Newcastle United, things are starting to feel a little stale.
Indeed, Eddie Howe has done a remarkable job in getting this team into a position to challenge for the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and qualification for the Champions League. That has not been easy given the lack of investment over the past few transfer windows.
At some point, that has to change. Newcastle insiders think they can spend this summer, having raised money through player sales while opting not to make any significant signings.
That is certainly promising to hear but it doesn’t mean players won’t leave. Howe has constantly talked about the need for player trading, so it’s equally as important that Newcastle complete outgoings as well as incomings.
One of those could in fact be a certain Harvey Barnes.
Harvey Barnes transfer latest with Newcastle United exit possible
Barnes has rarely seemed much of a starter under Howe. With Anthony Gordon the star man out on the left wing for Newcastle, that is certainly understandable.
In fact, Barnes is believed to be frustrated about his lack of minutes, although Howe has constantly described him as “vital”.
With that in mind, fresh insight from The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope is interesting.
Speaking on a video posted on YouTube, Hope revealed that Barnes’s future was “50/50” heading into the summer transfer window.
“I would say it’s a real 50/50 going into the summer,” he revealed.
