Brazil make big devastating announcement involving Nottingham Forest star Murillo and Neymar Jr
Murillo’s stock continues to rise at Nottingham Forest, so it’s no surprise that he has caught the eye of the wider football world.
After Murillo signed a new Forest contract, Evangelos Marinakis would’ve been relieved to tie down one of his brightest sparks as the elite European sides start making their initial moves.
Real Madrid were seen scouting Murillo in November as the former Corinthians man has continued to excel into his second season at the City Ground, whilst Arne Slot wants to sign Murillo for Liverpool after seeing the centre back live in January.
Ironically, beating Liverpool at Anfield convinced Murillo of his Forest future, which will have given confidence to the Forest owner that he can retain the Brazilian for at least the foreseeable future.
However, the latest update from the Brazilian national team is sure to keep the attention on Murillo, as the Forest star could be lining up with Neymar Jr.
Murillo called up to preliminary Brazilian national team squad
Murillo has been called up to the Brazil squad previously, so it’s not something new, but this season’s form suggests that he may have a more important role to play in the national team.
In a star-studded preliminary squad of 52 players, Murillo is alongside the likes of Marquinhos and Arsenal’s Gabriel in the central defence.
Further up the pitch, stars such as Vinicius Junior and Forest-linked Matheus Cunha spearhead the attack, as well as iconic forward Neymar.
Murillo celebrated his first Brazil call-up with karaoke, so he will undoubtedly be celebrating in a similar way to this news. However, the 22-year-old will be hoping his experience in the national team is more fulfilling than his previous call-up.
