Tottenham make official Archie Gray announcement

Archie Gray has been a shining star in an otherwise dismal campaign for Tottenham with a fresh announcement now being made.

With injuries and poor management, Tottenham have endured a fairly horrid season, which appears as though it is fizzling out to nothing unless they can achieve success in the Europa League.

However, there has been the occasional positive to emerge from the campaign, and the performances of Gray are arguably at the very top of that list.

Having joined as a teenage midfielder, Gray has been moulded into a solid centre-back for Spurs, with the 18-year-old stepping up while others failed.

Gray gets recognition for Tottenham displays

Quite frankly, if everyone had been able to replicate the performances of Gray, Spurs would not be in the mess that they are currently in.

He has been nothing short of magnificent in very challenging circumstances by all accounts. Not only have the expectations and pressure been raised by the situation of the club, but he has had to mature at an alarming rate to ensure he can contribute effectively.

He has managed to do that seamlessly, with Tottenham announcing via X (27 February) that he has been named the Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards.

Very few, if any at all, will argue against his credentials to win the award, with it doing nothing but showcasing just how big of a talent Tottenham have on their hands.

Tottenham must tread carefully with Gray

While Gray has been exceptional for Spurs this season, there can be risks from having such a young player exposed to the intensity of Premier League football regularly.

Other sides are typically afforded the luxury of rotation, which has been somewhat of a fantasy for Postecoglou this season as a result of the injury crisis that has ensued.
