Barry Ferguson has admitted his relief that away fans will now be allowed back into games between Rangers and Celtic – but can’t help but think that more Ibrox punters could have been given briefs for their showdown at Parkhead next month.

The interim boss will take his team across the city for his first experience of an Old Firm derby in management when the Gers take on Brendan Rodgers’ champions on Sunday March 16. It was confirmed earlier on Friday that the two clubs had come to an agreement that will see away supporters back in stadiums for the fixture for the first time since January 2023.
