Paraag Marathe breaks silence on potential Rangers takeover
Paraag Marathe has broken his silence on 49ers Enterprisies’ potential takeover of Rangers.
Marathe is set up to head up a consortium that will acquire a significant stake in the Ibrox club.
Currently chairman of Leeds United, Marathe recently broke his silence on the potential takeover: “I can’t really comment on whatever rumours might be out there,” he said at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit (Record).
“But we are looking at other opportunities. It is doable to replicate the passion (of Leeds). What we are looking for is clubs with the right bones, a history of success and potential for growth.

“And if you are a sports person, and you live it and treat it as a way of life like I do, then absolutely there is enough room in your heart to love all your sports properties, just like there is to love all of your children!”
Rangers play out only their second game since news of the potential takeover this evening.
The Govan side travel to face Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, with Barry Ferguson at the helm following Philippe Clement’s recent dismissal.
The 47-year-old is taking charge of his first match as interim head coach. He will be in place until the end of the season.
After that, and once 49ers Enterprises’ impending takeover goes through, Marathe and Co. could put their own permanent manager in place.
It remains to be seen who they could turn to as they search for a long-term Clement replacement.
